Today I'm grateful for such a capable body. This body carries me wherever I wish and performs whatever duties I command. When I think of ways to reward such an amazing body, dance is one of the first things that comes to mind. If I need a quick way to get out of my head and into my body, dancing is the speediest method imaginable. All I need is a bit of space, some rousing tunes, and some motivation to move-no gym membership required! Dancing releases emotion and endorphins while relieving stress and tension. Expand & contract! Shake it off! Let it go! Stomp it out!
Dance all around the living room, in the rain, at the club, in the car, under the stars, in the shower (safely), while seated at work, with kids anywhere and everywhere, while making dinner, at a concert, in the streets! Let your insides match your outsides: swing, spin, stomp, kick, shake, and jump! If the idea of dancing with abandon in public is terrifying, it could be a great courage builder! Find expression through movement, make connections through movement. Extend to the sky, sink to the earth, and find all the levels in between-surprise yourself!
Balance and grace are lying dormant, waiting to play! Dance, and don't be surprised if the flow of energy suddenly becomes more tangible-universes are colliding, merging, and chemically changing during physical improvisation and exploration. Expending energy creates energy. Deliberate animation of this amazing body unlocks carnal intelligence that could remain unreachable otherwise-listen to this teacher and find more peace. Your body wants to move; let it move!
